Dr. Eric Mendez grew up in La Marque, Texas. He is also proud of his Salvadoran heritage. Dr. Mendez earned both his bachelor’s degree and doctorate degree from the University of Houston. During Optometry School, he showed an active interest in specialty contact lenses and ocular disease. When Dr. Mendez is not seeing patients, he enjoys film photography and collecting vinyl records.Dr. Mendez is excited to join the Southwest Eye Institute team of doctors and help patients throughout El Paso.
