Dr. Ryan Ockey, O.D., began his journey into the eye care field while serving a mission in Mexico City, where he volunteered as a translator for a Lions Club group performing eye exams. Here, he discovered his passion for eye care, realizing how important healthy eyes and good vision are to overall health and happiness.

As a specialist in comprehensive eye exams and an expert in optometric glaucoma care, Dr. Ockey combines technical proficiency with a compassionate approach. He values building meaningful relationships with his patients and emphasizes the importance of personalized care.
“I believe it’s essential to truly listen to my patients’ concerns and ensure they understand their eye health, treatment options, and the path forward,” he shares.

Education and Medical Training

Dr. Ockey pursued his passion by earning his degree from Midwestern University — Arizona College of Optometry. During his training, he gained extensive expertise in optometry, equipping him with the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional patient care.

Personal Interests

Dr. Ockey was born in Orem, Utah, and raised throughout the Mountain West. Outside the clinic, he is a devoted family man who enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. Together, they love staying active—especially playing basketball—and traveling to explore new places. Deeply connected to his community, Dr. Ockey coaches his children’s basketball teams and is actively involved in his church congregation.

Dr. Ockey also takes pride in his bilingual abilities. “I speak Spanish fluently and cherish the opportunity to connect with my patients in their preferred language,” he says, fostering a welcoming environment for all.
