⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re even thinking about LASIK, do yourself a favor and schedule a consultation with Southwest Eye Institute. I honestly can’t recommend them enough. A few years ago, I stopped by to learn more about the procedure, but I wasn’t quite ready. Vero at the front desk never gave up on me. She would check in every few months, not in a pushy way, just genuinely following up. When I was finally ready in December 2025, she welcomed me back as if no time had passed. From the moment you walk in, you notice the little things. The facility is spotless, it even smells amazing, and everyone treats you like family. I’ve spent my entire career in customer service and sales, so I tend to notice those details, and this team absolutely sets the standard. A special thank you to Carla and Jessica. They were incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer every question I had about LASIK versus PRK. You can tell they genuinely love what they do and truly care about their patients. And then there’s Dr. De La Torre. It’s obvious the culture of excellence starts with him. He leads by example, runs an outstanding practice, and inspires confidence from the moment you meet him. Watching the team work together during the procedure was impressive. Everything was organized, calm, and professional. I was definitely a little nervous beforehand, but they thought of everything. They even gave me a relaxing neck and upper back massage before the procedure (huge shoutout to the massage therapist!), let me choose the music playing during surgery, and even allowed my loved one to watch and record the entire experience. Those little touches made all the difference. Today, I only wish I had done it sooner. I had a very positive experience with Southwest Eye Institute from start to finish. I was originally recommended by two friends (one who had LASIK and the other PRK, both with excellent results). Based on their experiences, I decided to go in and I’m very glad I did. The staff is friendly, caring, knowledgeable, and always accommodating. The free screening was thorough, and I was immediately informed of my candidacy for LASIK and PRK. Everything was clearly explained and they encouraged all my questions which helped eliminate a lot of my initial doubts and fear. Dr. De La Torre was exceptionally professional, responsive, and available to answer my post-op concerns. In the first few weeks, I experienced some vision fluctuation and occasional blurriness in both eyes, but the staff reassured me it was part of the healing process and scheduled follow-ups accordingly to make sure everything was on track. Although I have a phobia of surgery and found the procedure itself a bit scary, it wasn’t painful. Just a feeling of pressure. Incredibly, by the end of the operation, I could see the clock clearly from a distance for the first time in my life without glasses. Now I wake up with clear vision, no more foggy lenses or fumbling for contacts, and I’ve had the corrective lenses restriction removed from my driver’s license. I plan to recommend my brother and would absolutely encourage anyone considering LASIK to choose this clinic. Thank you to everyone at Southwest Eye Institute for truly changing my life.
