Clinical Expertise

Dr. Jason Zehden specializes in cataract surgery, LASIK vision correction, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), corneal cross-linking (CXL), EVO ICL™ (Implantable Collamer Lens), and pterygium surgery. He is committed to providing personalized treatment plans using advanced surgical techniques to help patients achieve clearer vision and long-term eye health.

Education and Medical Training

Dr. Zehden attended Coronado High School in El Paso, where he completed the rigorous International Baccalaureate program and served as captain of the swim team. He went on to the University of Texas at El Paso before earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with highest honors. He then practiced as a pharmacist, gaining firsthand experience in patient care and medication management before deciding to pursue medicine.

Dr. Zehden then earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he graduated with distinction in the foundational sciences. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was honored with the Academic Excellence Award for achieving the highest exam scores in his residency class.

Accolades

During his training, he authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented his research at national meetings, including the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO).

Dr. Zehden is fluent in Spanish and is committed to providing accessible, compassionate eye care to the El Paso community.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Zehden enjoys swimming, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.
